Add Funds

Found a rare or unique Treasure in the marketplace and ready to start your collection? Adding funds to your Treasure Chess wallet just got easier! This update includes 3 additional providers- Wert, Ramp and Mt Pelerin. We now support almost every country.

You’ll notice fees for some of the options. Fees are at the discretion of the providers- Treasure Chess does not charge any fees for adding or cashing out funds. 

Cashing Out

Don’t forget your Treasures are valuable too — once you’ve made some sales and are ready to transfer your earnings to your bank account, our providers Wyre and now Coinbase are available for cashing out.

There are no fees for cashing out using Coinbase - 100% of what you earn goes directly to your bank account!

To start, Treasures can only be sold in the Marketplace if both featured users have opted in by logging into Treasure Chess. This secures the privacy of users that do not wish to be featured on Treasures in the Marketplace. We’ve also set a maximum deposit of $100.00 into Treasure Chess user accounts to remove any run away speculation and to ensure an app that is more open while protecting our users. Currently, Treasure Chess does not support moving Treasures to other Marketplaces (such as OpenSea, LooksRare etc.), but we are hoping to change that soon and are working on providing this feature!

So you’re ready to sell a Treasure

We’re really excited to support creators and have decided not to add commission to primary sales, meaning that if you are putting up a Treasure into the Marketplace that you’ve minted yourself, you will collect 100% of the proceeds.  

If you are selling a Treasure that you have collected but not minted, you will receive a 90% payout. A 5% fee will be paid to Treasure Chess and a 5% royalty will be given to the original creator every time the Treasure is resold. 

There are all kinds of Treasures to collect and we are so proud to foster a community excited to connect over different curiosities and interests!

Minting a Treasure on Treasure Chess uses less energy than sending an email. And we’re proud of that.

Currently some crypto apps such as Bitcoin contribute to an overwhelming amount of carbon emission. Unfortunately, its Proof-of-Work method of validation used by Bitcoin and others requires a lot of computing power which causes a huge amount of energy to be expended. Treasure Chess was built on Polygon, a network that wastes no energy on mining by using the Proof-of-Stake consensus mechanism. The Proof-of-Stake process doesn’t require multiple miners to compete by doing tons of useless math. Instead a single validator is randomly selected preventing time and energy from going down the drain.

We think one of the best ways to get rid of wasteful networks like Bitcoin is to build better apps on more efficient networks, like we have done by building on Polygon.

Ethereum is phasing out of using Proof-of-Work and into applying a Proof-of-Stake model. Along with that, in just a few months (expected around August 2022), Polygon will actualize its vision of becoming carbon-negative. Polygon has pledged $20M to ensure the success of their mission and has partnered with KlimaDAO, a high-profile decentralized environmentalist collective, to aid in the transition. Treasure Chess let’s you mint games of chess you have played on Chess.com as digital collectables, like trading cards, called Treasures. You can verify each game of chess featured on a Treasure has really been played and was minted by one of the players shown on the card.

If both players featured on the card have logged in to Treasure Chess, the Treasure can be sold in the marketplace by anyone. The original minter of the Treasure will earn royalties forever on all secondary sales.
